Privacy Policy

Introduction

Paro (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a focus and body doubling application developed by Asif Safarov. This Privacy Policy describes how the App collects, uses, and protects your information.

We have designed Paro to work with as little data collection as possible. The App does not require an account, does not collect personal information such as your name or email address, and does not transmit your focus history or task content to external servers.

Information we collect

a. Information stored locally on your device

The App stores the following data exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework:

• Your focus history (duration, date, completion status)
• Your streak count
• Your buddy preferences (selected name, voice)
• Your notification preferences

This data does not leave your device unless you use Apple's built-in iCloud backup feature, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not ours.

b. In-app purchase information (via Adapty)

The App uses Adapty (adapty.io) to manage in-app subscriptions. When you make a purchase, Adapty receives:

• An anonymous device identifier (not linked to your personal identity)
• Purchase status and subscription tier
• App usage events for analytics purposes

Adapty does not receive your name, email address, or payment information. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. Adapty's privacy policy is available at adapty.io/privacy.

c. Apple Health (optional, Pro only)

If you enable the Apple Health integration (available in Paro Pro), the App writes “Mindful Minutes” data to the Apple Health app on your device. This data is stored in Apple Health on your device, is not transmitted to our servers, can be disabled at any time in Apple Health settings, and is governed by Apple's Health privacy policy.

d. Notifications

The App uses local notifications to provide focus check-in reminders. These notifications are generated entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to external servers.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect:

• Your name, email address, or any contact information
• Your location
• Your contacts
• Your browsing history
• Any content of your task descriptions or notes
• Biometric data
• Financial information beyond subscription status (handled by Apple)
• Any information that identifies you personally

How we use information

The limited anonymous data collected through Adapty is used solely to:

• Verify your subscription status
• Maintain App stability
• Understand aggregate usage patterns (not individual user behavior)

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

The App is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because the App does not collect personal information from any user, no special handling is required for younger users. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at the address below and we will delete it immediately.

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect (see Section 02 above)
• Request deletion of personal information (the App stores data locally; delete by uninstalling)
• Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
• Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

Because we collect minimal anonymous data and no personally identifiable information, most CCPA rights are satisfied by the App's design. To exercise your rights, contact: asifseferov00@gmail.com.

European users (GDPR)

For users in the European Economic Area, our legal basis for processing the limited anonymous data described in Section 02(b) is our legitimate interest in maintaining App functionality and understanding aggregate usage. We do not process personally identifiable data, so consent requirements for sensitive data categories do not apply.

You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold. Because we hold no personal data linked to your identity, exercising these rights can be accomplished by uninstalling the App, which removes all locally stored data.

Data retention

Data stored locally on your device is retained until you delete the App. Anonymous analytics data held by Adapty is retained according to Adapty's data retention policy.

We do not use advertising networks, social media SDKs, or analytics services beyond those listed above.

Security

All data stored locally uses Apple's standard device encryption. We do not transmit personal data, which eliminates the primary vector for data breaches. Anonymous purchase data is protected by Adapty's security infrastructure.

Changes to this policy

We will notify you of material changes to this policy through an App update or in-app notice. The effective date at the top of this document reflects the most recent update.
